OSJVS invites young musicians to join us for the 2026-2027 season

Senior Orchestra

We are looking for musicians aged 14 and over who play the following instruments:

Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, and percussion.

Candidates must be able to read music.

Session: Saturdays, from September 2026 to May 2027, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: École du Papillon Bleu, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Pavilion (2, avenue de la Fabrique, Vaudreuil-Dorion), Saint-Clet Church, and occasionally Valois United Church.

Participation fee for the 2026–2027 season: $215

Junior Orchestra

We are also looking for young violinists and cellists aged 6 to 14, with some playing experience, to join our Junior Orchestra.

Candidates must be able to read music.

Session: Saturdays, from September 2026 to May 2027, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Location: École du Papillon Bleu, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Pavilion (2, avenue de la Fabrique, Vaudreuil-Dorion), Église de Saint-Clet, and occasionally Église Valois-Unie.

Participation fee for the 2026-2027 season: $100

Beginner Cello Program

We offer beginner cello lessons this fall, with both individual and group instruction. This program is specially designed for young beginners ages 6 to 8 from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. Instruments are provided. We hope to encourage young people in the region to discover the cello and develop an interest in music.

Professor: Dmitry Babich

Solo cellist and graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Dmitry Babich is a laureate of the Shostakovich String Quartet Competition. He also teaches at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec.

8-course session: Saturdays, October 3 to November 28, 2026. Group classes will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m., alternating with private lessons. Private lessons will be scheduled by appointment on Saturday afternoons.

There will be no class on October 10 due to the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Fee for the 8-course session: $100
